Chardonnay



The best-known white grape variety, the Chardonnay grape, originates in the French region of Bourgogne.

When grown in a cool climate, wine produced from Chardonnay has green apple and citrus fruits aromas, when grown in a hot climate, the wine has tropical fruit aromas. Wine produced from Chardonnay has a medium to high acidity.

Chardonnay is a grape variety that is very suitable for maturation in oak barrels. Oak maturation contributes to Chardonnay aromas of vanilla, toasted bread, hazelnuts, coffee and honey.

Good examples in world wine making are French (Bourgogne (Chablis), Champagne), USA (California), Chilean and Australian.

Chardonnay grapes are grown in Kavaklıdere’s Cappadocia Vineyards.
