Syrah

Syrah is the popular black grape variety that has the potential to produce quality, full bodied and ageable wines. In the New World it is known as Shiraz.

Wines produced from Syrah are deep blackish in colour; they reveal black fruits, pepper and pronounced spice (especially if the grapes are grown in hot climate) aromas. The Syrah grape is very suitable for maturation in oak barrels, where it gets the aromas of toasted bread, vanilla and dark chocolate.

Good examples in world wine making are produced in France’s Rhone Valley (Hermitage, Côte Rotie) and Australia. This variety is rapidly gaining popularity in the New World (Australia, Chile, South Africa, (California)) and it can survive under hard and different conditions.

Pendore Syrah is produced from Syrah grapes grown in the Kavaklıdere-Pendore Vineyards. Syrah grapes are also used in the production of the blend wine, Vin-art Kalecik Karası-Syrah and varietal wines Ancyra Syrah and Egeo Syrah.
