Tempranillo



Tempranillo is one of the most important varieties grape variety grown in Spain. This grape is thick skinned. The wine produced from Tempranillo has medium to high tannin, medium to high acidity revealing the typical aromas strawberry, strawberry jam, plum and coffee.

Good examples in world wine making are produced in Spain’s Rioja, Navarra, Ribera del Duero and Penedes wine regions. Apart from those areas, Tempranillo grapes are grown in Argentina.

Strawberry, strawberry jam, plum and coffee are the typical Tempranillo aromas.

Tempranillo is one of the most suitable red wine grape for maturation in oak barrels. The oak gives spiciness, vanilla, toasted bread and coconut aromas.
